Home update...

This week our builder basically finished the outside of the house (minus a little painting, some cedar accents, a drive, and landscaping - of course)!

Here's a picture of the rock that was finished on Thursday, which thankfully matches pretty well with our new paint scheme.

They were working pretty late this day, and had to bring in their own power to finish some trim work and the banister up to the loft.  

We walked through the house over the weekend, and now have cabinets, trim, interior doors, and almost everything is painted.  It looks like a lot of great progress!

Lonestar DestiNation ImagiNation

Josh had an exceptionally busy day today with his DestiNation ImagiNation group!  The group had an awesome time working on a project that involved human and battery power, and also participated in an instant challenge that tested their quick thinking!  It was also a lot of fun to see Grandma, Grandpa, Nana, and Papa for this exciting day!

Some Recent Pics

Well, since Nick has been doing a lot of updating, I thought I would add in a couple of pics.

Here are Josh & the girls at Josh's field trip to the Dallas World Aquarium. Wow! I have a lot of respect for 3rd Grade teachers, I was overwhelmed after an hour with a bunch of third graders!

Next, are some pictures from when Emmalynn was in her 2nd showing of Oz the Musical. First, we went and got her hair done and Graceanna's hair cut.

And these are of Gracie today before school. I loved this outfit on her, so I had to get some pics!

Home update...

Today we drove by the house (so what's new??) to see how the brick and rock was coming along.  After seeing some brick work that I didn't like on one of the homes our builder was working on nearby, I'm happy to say the brick on our house looks awesome!  The crew working on it is nearly finished (just the porch and a few pillars are left), and they are doing a great job :-)  The rock isn't quite finished, but here are a couple pictures of what it looks like today:

Father Daughter Dance...

I've waited too long to make this post, but recently Emma and I had a lot of fun at the Keller Father Daughter Dance! Emma is a sweetheart, and actually thinks I can dance (or at least she says I'm a good dancer), so that little runt is definitely on my good side :-)

The coolest parts of the evening were her asking me to carry her because she was tired of dancing, and of course getting to go to McDonald's for dinner! Jen and I are blessed with wonderful kids, and are thankful for lots of fun times along the way as they grow up too quickly :-)

Home update...

This past weekend, Josh and I stopped by the house to add a couple drops for tv's, and look through the framing before insulation and sheetrock went up...

About the middle of the week insulation was installed, sheetrock was delivered, and pallets of brick showed up...

Today they started bricking the house, finished the sheetrock, and taped/floated everything.  It's really starting to come together, and since sheetrock is finished we should be about 45 days from closing!

Home update...

This past week a lot has changed on our house.  Within a few days everything was framed up and the shape of the house (including roof line) became obvious.

Yesterday they finished up the roof, and today (Thursday) they did the rough A/C, electrical, and plumbing, so things are progressing quite well:
